This week marked my return to "training", aka not all runs were at my easy pace. I am slowly introducing some short bursts of speed, tempo miles, and hills to my weekly diet. It feels good to be moving at something other than easy pace. I have the satisfaction that I am doing some actual work! Boston 2017 will be my fourth Boston Marathon. I have yet to perform at Boston in a way that I am satisfied with. Two of those races I can blame high temps, but 2014 I can only point the finger at myself. The downhills trashed my quads in a way that I can only describe as knife-like pain those final few miles. This cycle I can train smarter - hills, hills, hills!
